Weekly meal plan 1.31.11

Well I have a meal plan this week but I’m not sure if we will actually eat the meals I have planned. Friday Jace woke up with the flu and was miserable all weekend. Sunday morning I woke up with the same thing. Today I am camped out on the couch with my with my two best friends right now advil and cough drops.

Here’s this weeks plan. We’ll see if we eat any of it.
Tonight: three meat pizza
Tuesday: Tex-Mex pork chops and rice
Wednesday: nachos
Thursday: take out after practice
Friday: date night.

Weekly meal plan 1.24.11

Can you believe we are almost done with January? It seems like yesterday I was planning my resolutions for this year. I am very proud to say that I am right on track. I have made it a point to run at least 5 days a week, I am eating healthier and taking time to myself. I have learned to do little things at a time that way they don’t all pile up on me. When I manage to do that I find that I have lots more time to sit and rest instead of spending hours cleaning and organizing. I am also realizing my priorities in life. I can either do 100 things decently, but not to the best of my ability, or I can do 10 things well. I would rather put aside the other 90 and focus on the 10.

Ok, enough rambling. This week I am trying a couple of new recipes. I am trying a vegetable casserole and a mandarin beef stir fry. If they turn out well I will be sure to post them here. Also, I am roasting two chickens. One to eat tonight and the other to cut up and use the leftovers.

Here’s this weeks plan.
Tonight: roasted chicken (brined and cooked like our turkey), fingerling potatoes and vegetable casserole
Tuesday: mandarin beef stir-fry with noodles
Wednesday: chicken pot pie (made with leftover roasted chicken)
Thursday: take out after practice
Friday: date night

Weekly meal plan 1.17.11

Good morning! We had another good weekend here. Jace’s mom is in town to see her family so we took her out to the shooting range to play a bit and Sunday we hung out with our amazing friends. I got to thinking the other night while I couldn’t sleep that I am truly in love with my life. God has blessed me with an amazing husband, a great family on both sides and awesome friends. I love that I can be my quirky self and no one cares. I was never the cookie cutter girl. I dress differently than most girls, I decorate differently, and I act differently but I want to say a big thank you to all my friends and family for embracing it and letting me grow into who I am now.

Ok, enough mushy stuff. Here’s this weeks meal plan.
Tonight: steak, mashed potatoes and corn
Tuesday: something on the run. We have a praise and worship conference at church.
Wednesday: pork fajita quesadillas
Thursday: take out after practice
Friday: date night

Weekly meal plan 1.10.11

Happy Monday! I really wanted the weekend to be just a little bit longer. We did some really fun stuff and I could have used another day to relax. Saturday we went to the Midland Shooters Association and became members so we can go shoot whenever we want. Then Saturday night we went on a double date with our good friends Chad and Jamie and saw True Grit. There was some mixed feelings but all-in-all it was a really good movie. Sunday after a great service at church we went to the range to shoot. I think it was a successful weekend!

We have a great menu this week. I am making a brisket for the first time and also we are making tacos, which are always a favorite around here. I’d really like to know what everyone else is eating this week. I’m always having a hard time trying to come up with new recipes and ideas. If you have a meal plan or just something you know you are making, leave a comment letting all of us know. Also, if you have a website you are getting the recipe from leave it also so we can all try it. Then when you can’t decide on what to eat just open up any of my old meal plans and scroll though everyone else’s recipes.

Weekly meal plan 1.3.11

This is my first meal plan of the new year!!! I am very excited about the meal plans this year. I plan on doing lots of new recipes and fun stuff. Also, I know of several people who are starting to do weekly meal plans so I would really like to make this more of a community where we can bounce ideas off of each other and get help with meal plans. I know some weeks can be hard to come up with a list of things to eat so I think it could help to get some ideas from other people.

Here is this weeks plan.
Tonight: sauteed chicken and lemon thyme rice
Tuesday: sichuan-style chicken noodle soup with (hopefully homemade) french bread
Wednesday: grilled sandwiches and chips
Thursday: take out after praise and worship practice
Friday: date night
